You take up a guy’s offer for a tutorial on the game of pool, only to experience groping worse than what dominates the nearby dance floor.
Women sometimes have a tough time navigating the pool universe. Play for the first time, and you’re often subjected to the aforementioned groping scenario.
Get serious about the game, and it’s sometimes hard to find a group of female cohorts who share your interest. It can be enough to make many aspiring pool sharks drop the habit entirely.
Never miss a local story.
That might change with a promotion at Players, the 18-and-older Columbus venue that offers a restaurant, billiards and bowling.
Players offers Girls’ Night Out every Thursday, attracting female guests with deals like free pool on the venue’s hourly tables.
You can also expect 10 percent off all menu food, special drinks and a chance to win door prizes.
Also, a ladies-only pool league begins 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Players. It spans 12 to 14 weeks of play and new players are welcome.
League spots are filled on a first come, first served basis.
Call the venue to see if spots remain.
Guests can attend Girls’ Night Out without participating in the ladies-only league.
