Your trusty lawn chair misses downtown Columbus.
Luckily, there’s a free outdoor concert on Broadway this Friday.
The Taste of the Bash concert includes opening act Carson Hand, as well as the Original Soul Proprietors.
The Original Soul Proprietors, a local act, gained a following in the ’60s and ’70s. Some band members still live in the Columbus-Phenix City area.
The show is a prelude to Saturday’s 2nd Annual Band Bash at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center, a benefit for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
General admission tickets ($50) are still available for the 2nd Annual Band Bash, which features performances by the DNR Band, The Shadows, The Original 10:30 Band, a Frank Land tribute band and the Original Soul Proprietors.
Keep your lawn chair handy after Friday’s show. The fall outdoor concerts downtown kick off Sept. 17 with a performance by Big Woody and the Splinters.
The free shows will happen 7-10 p.m. every Friday through Oct. 8. Other musical acts are The Relics, Whisky Bent and Peggy Jenkins and the Bizness.
