Go ahead and squeal. Justin Bieber won Artist of the Year at Sunday's American Music Awards 2010, the same awards show that marked the return of popular boy bands New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys.
Also on the night's "most memorable" list? Taylor Swift's straight hair.

After the ceremony, some controversy erupted when pop music website Neon Limelight tweeted that a teleprompter listed Chris Brown, instead of Usher, as winner in the Favorite Male Soul/R&B category. Usher accepted the award on camera. I've been researching this one for a bit, music fans, and I haven't found much to back it up. Stay tuned.
Here's a full recap of this year's AMAs:
Rihanna kicks off the show with a medley of songs that includes "Love the Way You Lie," "What's My Name" and "Only Girl (In The World)." It's pretty spectacular, even if Rihanna's dancing is a bit baffling at times. Note: We're not lucky enough to get Drake's part of "What's My Name."
8:06 - Usher wins Favorite Soul/R&B Album for "Raymond v. Raymond."
8:12 - Jenny McCarthy is in the house! She and John Legend present the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group to Black Eyed Peas. They actually look somewhat normal tonight.
8:15 - Enrique Iglesias takes the stage and performs "Tonight." Then, a marching band comes on stage and he goes into "I Like It" with Pitbull. Part of me wants the entire "Jersey Shore" cast on stage right now. You too, Angelina. I had doubts about this performance at first, but the marching band won me over. But it still doesn't surpass my favorite Enrique tune: "Don't Turn Off the Lights."
8:19 - Miley Cyrus performs "Forgiveness and Love." No, there is not a stripper pole involved. For those of you who haven't heard the tune, it's a ballad. Miley performs on a stage filled with candles. She's kind of going for a goth look tonight. I kind of want her to do a free tarot card reading. What did you think?
8:29 - Diddy and Dirty Money perform "Coming Home." The whole thing is a bit manic. Audience members' offbeat arm swaying doesn't help.
8:32 - Jessica Alba presents Favorite Country Female Artist to Taylor Swift, who takes the stage sporting some straight hair. It's quite an alter ego and I can't adjust. Too much to process in one night. "I only want to thank the fans," she says.
8:34 - Kid Rock sings "Times Like These." Yawn...another Kid Rock ballad. Anyone else miss the old Kid Rock?
8:44 - Shakira wins Favorite Latin Music Artist. She couldn't be at the ceremony.
8:45 - The Black Eyed Peas perform "The Time." Like most of you, I've publicly pretended to hate this song. I call it cheesy and say it's destroying a "Dirty Dancing" classic. Privately, however, I bust a move with Fergie and friends. Two words: guilty pleasure. Don't hate.
8:55 - Katy Perry performs "Firework." She's initially accompanied by a children's choir. Then, there's fireworks on stage.
8:59 - Rihanna wins Favorite Soul/R&B Artist. What did you think of presenter Nicki Minaj's green hair?
9:01 - Well hello, Willow Smith. She introduces a performance by Justin Bieber, who sings "Pray" while playing the piano. I wish this was a cover of the MC Hammer tune with the same title. It's not. Still, Justin gives the tune "Heal the World" treatment, gospel choir and all. Preach it, Biebs.
9:11 - Brad Paisley wins Favorite Country Male Artist. He thanks his mom and dad, noting he likely has yet to thank them at any awards show. Awkward.
9:13 - Bon Jovi performs a greatest hits medley. The weakest part? Their new song, "What Do You Got?" I enjoyed the trip down memory lane, though.
9:25 - Justin Bieber wins T-Mobile's Breakthrough Artist Award. "I want to thank all of my fans for getting me here," he says.
9:28 - Pink sings "Raise Your Glass." Did anyone see a noticeable baby bump? I'm glad she skipped the circus act, which is not conducive to pregnancy. But overall, it's a strong performance. You can't really go wrong when glitter is involved.
9:38 - Ne-Yo performs "Champagne Life" while channeling Michael Jackson. Then, he switches to "Beautiful Monster." Sorry, but I don't really understand Ne-Yo's movie that plays in the background. It's a little more complex than Gaga's "Telephone."
9:43 - Taylor Swift performs "Back to December" while playing the piano. She's still flaunting straight hair. It seems like there's a general agreement that she's sporting a wig tonight. Agree? Remember, "Back to December" is the song that may or may not be about Taylor Lautner. We even get a little cover of "Apologize" in there.
9:49 - Justin Bieber wins Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist. Bieber fever!
9:55 - Christina Aguilera debuts "Express," a song from "Burlesque." Honestly...the song itself is just kind of "meh." I forget the melody within five minutes. But still, it's Christina! Actually, this might fall into Xtina territory. I don't care. Her voice sounds great and her moves are fierce. I approve.
10:00 - Lady Antebellum wins Favorite Country Band/Duo/Group.
10:06 - Usher performs "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love." This show has officially exceeded its quota on pyrotechnics.
10:11 - Muse wins Favorite Alternative Rock act. They thank Charles Darwin.
10:12 - Train performs "Marry Me." Then, they transition into "Hey, Soul Sister." Lead singer Pat Monahan is sporting glittery jeans. Let's leave it at that.
10:21 - The Band Perry presents Favorite Adult Contemporary Music Artist to Michael Buble. He's engaged to Luisana Lopilato, in case you were wondering.
10:25 - Ke$ha performs "Take It Off" and "We Are Who We Are." I have no major complaints, aside from the fact that I wish she was wearing another garbage bag gown.
10:33 - A Santana/Gavin Rossdale collaboration? Sure. They sing "Bang a Gong (Get It On)." Gavin sounds a bit rough. Perhaps he should've convinced Carlos to try "Everything Zen."
10:39 - Usher wins Favorite Soul/R&B Male artist. He vows you can't call this a comeback. Hmm. I'll be the judge of that. In other news, Chris Brown was a nominee in this category.
10:47 - Justin Bieber wins Artist of the Year. Strangely, I'm not upset. He gives a special shout-out to Usher and invites him on stage to share the award. Aww. Bromance. Now gimme some New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys!
10:49 - Here they are! Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block! Major mashup with "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," "Hangin' Tough," "I Want It That Way," "Step by Step," "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" and "Larger Than Life." For the record, this life-changing musical hybrid has a name: NKOTBSB. Really.
11:00 - We're done!
