After 1200 shows and five years on tour, it almost goes without saying that members of the band After the Crash have spent a lot of time in their van.
In fact, they boast about crashing on other people’s floors and offer tips for camping out in Wal-Mart parking lots (Park by the food center. It’s closest to the bathroom.)
The four-piece rock band will take their van and their act to Spicoli’s for the first time Saturday night.
The band was formed in San Diego in 2000, but lists its current location as “in a van, down by the river.”
They began touring as a group in 2005 and now play regularly on Tuesday nights at Fat Daddys in Auburn.
Throughout their years on the road, members have come and gone, each leaving their mark on the band and its music.
Described as a rock-alt-pop band, the band lists influences ranging from Chevelle to Elton John. They call it “musical ADD,” but promise all original songs with catchy guitar riffs and sing-along lyrics.
And the non-stop touring? All part of their “quest for domination.” You can even help them out by donating money for gas -- and Jager shots -- on their Myspace page.
Tickets to Saturday’s show are $5 and the show starts at 9 p.m.
