“A Night of Love and Laughter” features two actors from Tyler Perry’s “Meet the Browns.”
David and Tamela Mann, who play Leroy Brown and Cora Simmons in the TBS show, bring their comedy to the Bill Heard Theatre at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Manns have been married for 23 years, and have four children.
Saturday’s sold-out show isn’t about The Browns. It’s about the Manns. It features music and comedy, but most of all showcases the love between the couple.
Promoter Chris Dunlap, originally from Columbus and now working in Atlanta, is excited to bring this show to his hometown.
“This is the perfect opportunity for me to do a family show,” he said. “You can bring the whole family to this show. There’s love and laughter, singers and comedians. They’ll get people to dance.”
Dunlap said his days as a promoter are numbered.
“I’m going to retire,” he said last week. “Columbus has been very good to me. I’ve had sold-out shows in RiverCenter.
“I’m going to travel and enjoy life with my new wife, Kendra. Promoting shows takes a lot of time. It can be draining. I’ll do a couple more and then I’m just going to retire.”
