The comedian actually does more than that. He makes the millions of people across the nation listening to his radio show, purchasing his CDs, and attending his concerts laugh out loud.
Rickey is bringing his special brand of humor to Columbus. He will perform at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts Saturday night.
Rickey was asked about being one of the most successful comedians in the world.

The Birmingham, Ala., native said he is committed to working harder than ever to continue to be a positive influence and the all-around best entertainer he can be.
His radio show, "The Rickey Smiley Morning Show," based in Atlanta, is heard in nearly 60 cities.
He has had a role in several films, including two starring Ice Cube, "Friday After Next" and "First Sunday."
Among television shows on which he has appeared are "Showtime at the Apollo" and HBO's "Def Comedy Jam." He hosted a season of BET's "Comic View."
He is well known for his original characters "Mrs. Bernice Jenkins," "Lil' Daryl" and "Minister Joe Willie."
