EASTER SERVICES AT A GLANCE
Kingdom Metropolitan Worship Centre (KMWC) has chosen the Columbus Civic Center over the traditional pew and pulpit for Easter services for the second year.
Its citywide Easter Sunday Resurrection Service begins at 11 a.m.
"Everyone goes to the Civic Center, " the Rev. Marshall McGill, senior pastor, said in a media release. "It's a comfortable, non-threatening environment for people who are curious about church but would never set foot in a traditional steeple-topped building. Instead of bringing the people to the church, we are bringing the church to the people."
McGill says that several area locations were considered, but the civic center offered the best atmosphere for the kind of church service he envisioned. "Not only will we have the most comfortable church seats around, but we will have room, too."
The service will last about an hour.
Kingdom Metropolitan is located on Airport Thruway in the old Circuit City building.
