Special to the Ledger-Enquirer ------ MARTIN Water conditions: Down 6 inches; low 70s; clear. Good numbers of bluegill are taking crickets around points on the main lake. Some anglers are fishing crickets on the bottom behind a small split-shot, while others are fishing them under a small float. The bedding season is almost done for shellcracker, but some anglers are still catching a few in the backs of the pockets with redworms. Lots of catfish are taking nightcrawlers on the bottom in 12-20 feet...

    Special to the Ledger-Enquirer ------ MARTIN Water conditions : Down 6 inches; high 60s to low 70s; clear. Bream and catfish seem to be the two hottest things going right now. Bluegill are bedding around points on the main lake -- and while most of the fish being caught are barely hand-size, some anglers have reported catching more than 100 in a day.     Special to the Ledger-Enquirer ------ Water conditions: Six inches below full pool; 69 degrees; clear. Bass fishing has been excellent with lots of spotted bass and largemouth bass taking soft-plastic jerk baits in the creeks and coves. Carolina-rig fishermen are also having great success, catching as many as 40 bass per afternoon along the points and flats on the main lake.
