Georgia Search and Rescue Vehicle
Officials from Columbus Fire & Emergency Medical Services unveiled Wednesday hundreds of thousands of dollars in rescue equipment and a new equipment transport vehicle Wednesday morning that will help save lives in difficult rescue situations. The purchase of the state-of-the-art transport vehicle are part of the establishment of the Georgia Search and Rescue West Central Task Force 4A.

Gen. Petreaus at OCS Graduation With Lt. Sprenger
Officer candidate Peter Sprenger, who lost an eye in 2003 in Iraq, graduated from Officer Candidate School today at 1 p.m. at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. Sprenger, 26, was injured on Dec. 9, 2003, 10 months into his deployment during the invasion of Iraq. The Stockton, Calif., native completed Ranger School after recovering from his injury and deployed again to Iraq in 2006.

Shark Interview
The metal mesh shark suit consists of small tightly woven rings that form together to make a mesh called chainmail. This armour can protect against being cut by the shark's teeth, but the blunt force trauma of a bite could still break a diver's bone.
