The 2007 crop year is coming to an end and the Georgia Field Office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS) will be relying on producers to help gather year-end production information.
The survey will find out how much cotton and peanuts farmers produced. It will ask how many bushels of corn and soybeans do farmers have stored on farm.
"The December Agricultural Survey, also known as the Crops/Stock Survey, is the largest and most important year-end survey conducted by NASS," said Doug Kleweno, Director of the NASS Georgia Field Office. "This survey is the basis for the official USDA estimates of production and harvested acres of all major agricultural commodities in the United States."
