Auburn University and Tuskegee University will present a symposium to celebrate the life and works of Alabama native and Tuskegee graduate Albert Murray.
The symposium will be Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. CST at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.
Murray is widely recognized as a pivotal figure in American literature and culture and a leader in the field of jazz and the blues.
He was co-founder with Wynton Marsalis of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
