Elimination night on Idol

Breaking tradition, four semifinalists -- two men, two women -- will be sent home on tonight's episode of "American Idol."

In the past, only two singers have gone home at the end of the first semifinal round.

This week, contestants sang songs with a '60s theme, in back-to-back performance nights that for the most part generated only lukewarm praise from judges.
