Key Elementary remembers students who drowned

Key Elementary School dedicated its annual Field Day Friday to two of its students who drowned May 3 in the Chattahoochee River and planted two trees in their honor.

The morning program, in memory of brothers Arturio and Alijah Rozier, both remembered the boys and celebrated their lives.

School counselor Anjulique Bryant offered words of encouragment and read a poem, titled "Arturio and Alijah" and her daughter, Kennedi Bryant, sang "Tomorrow" for the gathered students, staff and family members as a song of encouragement.

After, family and others gathered in front of the school, where two trees were ready to plant, creating a memorial garden for the boys.

" We are shocked and saddened by this tragedy," said Dr. John Phillips, superintendent of the Muscogee County School District as he offered solace to those gathered. "God has taken these two wonderful boys to his side."
