Columbus police have arrested one man and are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery and aggravated assault that occurred last month.

Antonio Delfonzo Evans was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with one count of possession of a dangerous drug, two counts of burglary, three counts of armed robbery and three counts of aggravated assault.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred April 19 at an apartment on Old Cusseta Road.

Ruben Thompson, Trini Castillo, Pablo Leon and Manuel Zurita-Swerio were in an apartment when three men entered the residence, hit them on the head with pistols and took an undisclosed amount of money from their pockets, police said.

Evans was arrested by officers while they were executing an arrest warrant for another case at a building on Torch Hill Road.

According to an arrest report, Evans was sitting in the doorway of Building 10 as police approached. He told the officers that he lived in building 11-A.

The residents of 11-A told police they did not know Evans. Officers searched him and found 18 Atarax pills tied off in a plastic baggie.

After Evans was arrested on the drug charge, police determined he was wanted on outstanding warrants for the other charges.

Evans has been booked into the Muscogee County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court today at 8 a.m.
