A man was beaten, robbed of his boots and other items in downtown Columbus early Saturday.

Christopher Martin, 24, told police that he was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot at the northeast corner of 13th Street and Broadway around 2:45 a.m. when he was approached from behind by three men.

In a report , police said one of the men punched Martin in the face, while another pushed him to the ground, put his foot on his back and told him to stay down or he would shoot. Martin told police that he did not see a gun. The attackers took several items from Martin, including a silver and diamond watch, valued at $500, a gold chain, valued at $1,000, his wallet, black and yellow Timberland boots, valued at $150, and other items.

Martin's face was swollen, but he refused an offer from emergency medical services personnel, police said.

There were no witnesses to the incident.
