The bright orbs of Venus and Jupiter look close enough to be eyes; the crescent moon seems to smile.
That's the face in the sky astronomers are telling stargazers to watch for after sunset tonight, as a conjunction of the two shining planets over a sliver of moon puts on a show where the winter night's clear of clouds to the southwest.
The spectacle should be visible even in cities where light pollution obscures the view of less spectacular celestial shows.
