City of Valley receives risk management award

The city of Valley, Ala., has been awarded the Bronze Risk Management Award at the 2009 convention of the Alabama League of Municipalities.

Approximately 760 public entities participate in one or both of the Alabama League of Municipalities sponsored insurance programs.

The award system recognizes those members who have instituted risk management and loss control in efforts to reduce their loss ratio.

To get the Bronze Award, the loss rations had to be 20 percent to 40 percent.

The Gold Award went to those below 5 percent and the Silver Award to those 5 percent to 20 percent.
