CVCC to hold class on stroke patient care

Chattahoochee Valley Community College, in partnership with the Patrick Heart Institute of St. Francis Hospital, will hold a class on Advanced Stroke Life Support on Friday, May 29 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Brassell Hall, Room C-205.

The class will cover topics such as the urgent care of stroke patients, identifying components of focused neurological examinations, major stroke syndromes and stroke mimics, pre-hospital stroke management and stroke unit management of acute stroke patients.

Instructors will also discuss the Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Scale and MEND Exam.
