A car chase ended in a collision and sent two people to the hospital Sunday in LaGrange, Ga.
Around 6:30 a.m. LaGrange police officers attempted to stop a 1994 Ford in which the driver appeared to be intoxicated.
The driver, identified by police as Juan Gil, fled.
Officers deployed stop sticks to terminate the pursuit but they were ineffective.
The three-minute pursuit ended when Gil ran the stop sign at the intersection of Barnard Avenue and Hogansville Road and struck a 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by Michelle Williams of LaGrange.
Williams was transported to West Georgia Medical Center and was released. Gil was taken to The Medical Center in Columbus for care of internal injuries.
The investigation into the incident continues.
