Karla Garcia and Vitolio Jeune, regulars in the competition's bottom three, were eliminated from "So You Think You Can Dance" Thursday night.
The pair danced the dreaded quickstep in Wednesday's performance round. Members of the three-judge panel were satisfied, but the dancers failed to connect with voting viewers.
They were joined in Thursday's bottom three by Kayla Randomski and Kupono Aweau, as well as Jeanine Mason and Phillip Chbeeb. Both of those couples have been extensively praised by the judges since this season's early stages.
The elimination decision was unanimous, judge/produce Nigel Lythgoe said. He said Karla lacked star quality, while Vitolio failed to deliver uniqueness on stage.
