Update: Severe thunderstorm warning ends for Opelika, Phenix City

The severe thunderstorm warning for Opelika and Phenix City has ended, the National Weather Service said.

The storm that led to the warnings is currently moving through the Columbus area, which remains under a warning until 9:30 p.m.

The storm could push winds to more than 60 mph, cause large hail and continuous lightning. People in the warning area are advised to stay indoors.
