The Greater Columbus Minority Chamber of Commerce has launched a program to teach young people about personal finance and entrepreneurship.
Youth in the Kidpreneur/Teenpreneur program will learn about saving, budgeting and banking.
"We need to teach our children about financial literacy, which is pretty dry topic in our community," Jennifer Anthony, minority chamber president, said in a statement. "We need to get them directly involved. When you believe that you are smart enough and capable of making decisions about your employment and your finances, you will make better decisions."
Classes will be held at the Mildred L. Terry Public Library, 640 Veterans Parkway in Columbus.
