Nice guys no longer finish last. On Tuesday's results show of "Dancing with the Stars," ABC revealed the next "Bachelor" would be Jake Pavelka, a 31-year-old pilot from Dallas.

Jake, the "nice guy" from the recent season of "The Bachelorette" with Jillian Harris, will hand out the roses on the next installment of "The Bachelor." The popular dating reality show will begin its new season in January.

When Jake was eliminated from "The Bachelorette," he said "nice guys finish last. It's been the story of my life... (I'm) absolutely blindsided. If Jillian wanted me, she could have had me."

Jake endeared himself to the mostly female viewership of the show when he ignored "man code" and told Jillian that bad-boy Wes was still involved with a girlfriend from his hometown.

On the "Men Tell All" episode of "The Bachelorette" last season, Jake was asked by an audience member if he'd consider being the next "Bachelor." Jake said "it would be an honor."

He took some heat from the other guys on the show for his choices. When he had his turn in the hot seat he said he didn't regret telling Jillian that Wes had a girlfriend. "I would do it all over again," Jake said. Most of the other bachelors disagreed with Jake.

The other bachelors also found Jake guilty of "pulling a Mesnick," leaning over a hotel rail and crying. The move is named for last season's "Bachelor" Jason Mesnick who wasn't afraid to let his emotions show. Jake "pulled a Mesnick" after telling Jillian about Wes having a girlfriend.
