Fort Benning's Howl-o-ween party will be held Friday at the post's dog park.

From 4:30 to 7 p.m. Benning's canine community will celebrate the spooky holiday with various contests and events.

Dogs attending the “bark in the park” may compete in any of six competitions that will be conducted during the party. Prizes will be awarded for best trick, highest jump, cutest costume, scariest costume, most original costume and best owner-dog duo costume.

Free refreshments for human guests --- hot dogs, of course --- will be available.

Tri-County Animal Rescue will be there to assist families who are looking for a family pet.

The Fort Benning Dog Park is open to families with pets registered on post and is located behind Faith Middle School.
