West Point, Ga. Police Chief David Kerr will retire at the end of 2009 and start 2010 at Columbus State University's first full-time professor in West Point.
CSU recently opened an academic site in West Point and more than 100 people are taking classes.
Kerr will be housed in the West Point office at 707 Third Ave.
Kerr has a doctorate in organization and management from Capella University.
