Local travel consultant and owner of Epperly Travel, Lindsey Epperly, has been named to JEZEBEL magazine's "Trailblazing 10," which honors individuals with a presence in Atlanta who are using their businesses to change the surrounding community.
The magazine said she was chosen for the award due to the innovative way she runs her travel agency.
Epperly Travel, which launched in Columbus in 2014, "focuses on transparency, relationships, and storytelling to relate to the modern traveler," she said, and is dedicated to creating 4- and 5-star itineraries while offering a level of customer service that travelers won't find through competing businesses or online agencies.
The travel agency serves as a liaison to partner hotels, cruise lines and tour operators worldwide, ensuring that clients receive special treatment on their vacations, Epperly said.
Epperly Travel also was recognized as one of the Trailblazing 10 because of its charitable component. Proceeds from every vacation booked through the company go toward the completion of a home in Haiti "New Story Charity."
"To receive an honor that recognizes the very reason I built this business gives me confidence that we're on the right path," Epperly said. "We hope to serve the communities in our other markets to this same degree, especially in my hometown of Columbus."
Customers using Epperly Travel do not pay additional fees for services, she said, with the company delivering the same prices
that guests would find directly through the hotels, airlines and cruise lines.
