Happy National Spouses Day.
The folks at Nation Today, a website that keeps up with things like National Spouses Day, surveyed more than 1,000 American spouses, and found out some interesting things about our relationships.
For example, only 38 percent of married women think their husband is sexy, while 57 percent of husbands say the same about their wives.
Other things they found out:
Top five things that annoy spouses:
1: My spouse has selective listening (40 percent)
2: My spouse snores (39 percent)
3: My spouse can be a control freak sometimes (26 percent)
4: My spouse is not as financially responsible as I am (20 percent)
5: My spouse has bodily quirks (nose picking, farting, burping, etc.) (19 percent)
Top five things spouses appreciate:
1: My spouse is a hard worker (60 percent)
2: I can be myself around my spouse (56 percent)
3: My spouse makes me laugh (56 percent)
4: My spouse is smart (52 percent)
5: My spouse is supportive of my goals and desires (48 percent)
Top five surprising spousal insights:
1: I love my spouse, but sometimes I wish I were single so I could experience dating again (10 percent)
2: My spouse gets on my nerves sometimes (44 percent)
3: I wear the pants in the relationship with my spouse (13 percent)
4: Between the two of us, I'm better-looking than my spouse (9 percent)
5: My spouse is a slob (doesn't wash dishes, leaves dirty clothes on floor, etc.) (17 percent)
And finally, one that’s not particularly surprising, while 44 percent of husbands say they evenly split the household chores with their wives, only 26 percent of wives say the same.
