Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan has released the name of the man who was killed in Saturday's wreck on Forest Road that injured four others, including a 10-year-old.
Gary Walton, 55, of Columbus was pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m. Sunday at Columbus Midtown Medical Center, Bryan said.
Columbus police were called to the intersection of Forest Road and Floyd Road around 9:12 p.m. Saturday to investigate a two-vehicle wreck that injured five people, including Walton.
Officials said a man driving a 1983 Chevrolet C/10 was headed northwest on Forest Road and approaching the intersection at Delray Drive when he lost control of the vehicle. The pickup truck left its left lane and entered the southeast bound lanes, making its way in front of a 2008 Toyota 4Runner driven by a Columbus woman.

The front bumper of the Chevrolet struck the front fender of the Toyota, authorities said.
Witnesses said they saw the truck swerve in front of the SUV, causing the collision.
There were two people in the Chevrolet, including Walton. Three people were in the Toyota, including a 10-year-old boy. Everyone was transported to the hospital after reporting being injured. No one was seriously hurt aside from Walton.
