Primarily due to the dangerous water levels at West Point Lake and Lake Martin, the Muscogee Sail and Power Squadron announced today that a Safe Boating Course will be offered on Nov. 6 and 10 at the Auditorium of the Columbus Public Library on Macon Road.
The cost of the course book is $20 and the book can be shared by family members taking the course together.
The course will be taught in two separate sections. The first section will be presented on Tuesday night, Nov. 6 from 6-9 p.m. The second section will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 am to 4 pm.
Individuals taking the course will learn about boat handling, general safety rules of the waterway, navigation aids and many other boating and safety topics. The course will be taught by qualified USPS instructors that have years experience teaching safe boating courses.
If you own a boat and have never been to a boating class, you may think you do not need to take a course. To make sure you can protect yourself, your family and other boaters, come take the course and bring the whole family.
