The Safe and Drug Free Schools Department of the Muscogee County School District has received a grant of $20,000.
The funds come from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. The funds are awarded to help provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with issues of underage drinking and driving, drug use, impaired driving and other destructive decisions.
Ten schools received $2,000 each.
Those schools are Carver High, Columbus High, Hardaway High, Jordan High, Kendrick High, Northside High, Shaw High, Spencer High, Early College Program, and the Rose Hill Center.
