Opelika Police are investigating a report that a 40-year-old man may have forged 11 checks made out to himself totaling $8,100 on his father's bank account and cashed them.
Capt. Allan Elkins said Tuesday the checks were cashed during the time period of Oct. 8-29 on the father's account at Auburn Bank, 215 S. Sixth St.
Elkins said he could not release the names because no arrest has been made, but that the son is suspect in the case.

"The father is cooperating," Elkins said.
