The grand opening for the Ma Rainey Blues Museum, 805 Fifth Ave., is 10 a.m. Thursday. Georgia Congressman Sanford Bishop will speak.
The house that "the mother of the blues" called home features original furnishings, including Rainey's bedroom suite and piano, along with interactive exhibits of history and music.
The museum is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. It's closed Sunday and major holidays.
There is no admission fee.
