Valley police arrested two men and a woman early Wednesday morning for drug trafficking after allegedly finding cocaine and Ecstasy in their car.
According to a press release, police arrested Toni Christine Tapley, 19, Ronald Holland, 31, and Rodney Eric Mincey, 33, all from Jacksonville, Fla., for trafficking in controlled substances after finding approximately three pounds of suspected cocaine, as well as about 1,000 tablets of suspected Ecstasy in their car.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., police attempted to stop at 2007 Dodge Charger for a speeding violation. Tapley, who was driving the Texas-plated vehicle, nearly wrecked while attempting to stop, police said.
Police said Tapley, Holland and Mincey seemed very nervous and provided conflicting information as to their travel, claiming to be lost.
When police searched the vehicle, they discovered approximately a half a pound of suspected powder cocaine in the middle console.
A secondary search of the vehicle revealed another two and a half pounds of suspected cocaine and the Ecstasy tablets hidden in the sidewall of the truck area.
Tapley, Holland and Mincey were transported to the Chambers County Adult Detention Facility. Tapley's two children, who were present in the car, were taken into the custody of the Department of Human Resources.
The case remains under investigation.
