The Columbus State University student accused of killing a juvenile early Sunday had her bond reduced today at her first appearance hearing.
Samantha Javors, 20, of 4100 Acacia Drive, pleaded not guilty before Senior Columbus Recorder's Court Judge Michael Cielinski to charges of homicide by vehicle, no state tag, failure to maintain lane, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident that resulted in an injury or death.
Javors is accused of striking Lamar Tyrone Anderson, 16, as he was walking east on Miller Road near Bridgewater Road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Defense attorney Frank Martin argued Javors wasn't a flight risk. Cielinski then gave Javors a $6,500 bond on all charges. Her bond had been $10,950.
