The Phenix City Fire Rescue Services will being to flush and test fire hydrants throughout the city on March 17.
Tests will be conducted through May 9.
According to a news release, the department will try to ensure the water is flowed from the water lines until they are cleared of sediment, but residents are instructed to use care when running water during the tests.
Residents should let water flow from the faucets for a moment to ensure that it is not discolored.
