Thirty teams are expected to compete in the annual David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition, scheduled to begin April 18 at 6 a.m. at Ranger Training Brigade at Fort Benning.
This is the 25th Anniversary of the competition, which includes several grueling events over 60-plus hours of non-stop competition the weekend of April 18-20. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday, April 21, at 1pm at the Ranger Memorial near Infantry Hall.
Captain Ernesto Perez said that at least eighty percent of the competitiors are combat veterans, many having served multiple tours fighting the global war on terrorism.
