Gas prices rose nearly a penny today in Columbus, setting yet another record high and bucking the national fuel average, which declined nearly a penny.
The local average price of regular unleaded climbed to $3.267 per gallon, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. It is eight-tenths higher than on Monday.
That's up from nearly $3.22 per gallon a month ago and $2.63 per gallon on April 8 a year ago.
The highest average recorded in Georgia today is $3.34 per gallon in Albany, an all-time high for that city.
The state's lowest average can be found in Augusta, which is $3.23 per gallon, still a record high for that city.
Diesel fuel prices have been flat overall for more than two weeks. They registered $3.98 per gallon today in Columbus.
On the national front, the average for regular unleaded today is $3.33 per gallon, eight-tenths lower than on Monday, AAA reported. Diesel is nearly $4.04 per gallon.
