Tiger Woods tees off on the 14th hole Tuesday during a practice round for the 2008 Masters golf tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The four-time winner broke the Masters four-day scoring record in 1997; it had stood for 32 years.
The 72nd Masters tournament, the first major of the 2008 golf season, begins on Thursday. Started by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, it was first held March 22, 1934; Horton Smith won it. Since 1940, the tournament each year has been scheduled during the first full week in April.
