Philanthropy extravaganza "Idol Gives Back" airs tonight on Fox beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The show, an extension of reality TV competition "American Idol," raised $76 million for charities in the U.S. and Africa last year. This year, producers hope to raise $100 million.
Tonight's two-and-a-half-hour event, most of which was filmed Sunday, features appearances by celebrities like Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus and Snoop Dogg.
Thursday, it's back to business for "Idol," as one of the eight remaining finalists will be eliminated in a show that begins at 8 p.m.
Never miss a local story.
The "American Idol" blog at www.ledger-enquirer.com will be updated "live" throughout tonight's show, so be sure to check in often for candid comments from reporter Sonya Sorich.
