Gasoline prices set yet another record high today in Columbus and nationally.
The average price of regular unleaded is up to $3.274 per gallon, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. It is seven-tenths higher than on Tuesday.
That's up from nearly $3.22 per gallon a month ago and $2.64 per gallon on April 9 a year ago.
The highest average recorded in Georgia today is $3.34 per gallon in Albany, an all-time high for that city and less than half a cent higher than in Savannah.
The state's lowest average, as usual, can be found in Augusta, which is $3.24 per gallon, but still a record high for that city.
Diesel fuel prices have leveled off overall. They are registering $3.99 per gallon today in Columbus.
On the national front, the average for regular unleaded today is an all-time high of $3.34 per gallon, AAA reported. Diesel is nearly $4.04 per gallon.
