It's a banking trifecta for Synovus.
The regional bankholding firm, headquartered in Columbus, said Friday it is merging three of its affiliate Georgia banks into one.
Citizens Bank and Trust of West Georgia, based in Carrollton, and Citizens and Merchants Bank in Douglasville, will be folded into the Bank of North Georgia, which is headquartered in Alpharetta.
The name for the banking combo, which will oversee $6.2 billion in assets and have 48 offices, will be Bank of North Georgia. The operation will serve more than 65,000 households with its 865 employees, Synovus said.
