Kristy Lee Cook spent her final moments on "American Idol" singing "Forever."
Until the reality TV show's credits cut her off.
Cook, 24, was eliminated from the show Wednesday night. Viewers' votes put her in the bottom three along with Syesha Mercado and Brooke White, the singer with the second-lowest vote tally.
While country singer Cook had a frequent seat in the bottom three since the competition's early stages, her elimination this week surprised some fans. She seemed to be gaining momentum, and judge Paula Abdul said she was "blown away" by the rendition of "Forever" Cook performed Tuesday.
Cook spent the beginning of her send-off performance serenading judge Simon Cowell, who earlier in the episode predicted she'd be the one to go home.
Next week, contestants will take on songs by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
