Gas prices jumped nearly 3 cents per gallon overnight in Columbus, pushing their way to yet another record today.
The average price of regular unleaded rose to $3.332 per gallon locally, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. It is 2 and seven-tenths cents higher than on Wednesday.
That's up from $3.23 per gallon a month ago and $2.76 per gallon on April 17 a year ago.
The highest average recorded in Georgia today is $3.41 per gallon in Atlanta, an all-time high for that city.

The state's lowest average, as usual, can be found in Augusta, which is just under $3.30 per gallon.
Diesel fuel prices, which had held relatively steady in recent weeks, also spiked higher. They registered a record $4.08 per gallon today in Columbus, up a penny and a half from the day before.
Nationally, more records were broken as well.
The U.S. average for regular unleaded today is a record high of $3.42 per gallon, AAA reported. Diesel is closing in on $4.15 per gallon.
