Gasoline prices hit another record high Thursday in Columbus.
The average price of regular unleaded hit $3.521 per gallon locally, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. That's up from $3.495 per gallon, or two and six-tenths higher, than on Wednesday.
That's also up from $3.21 per gallon a month ago and nearly $2.75 per gallon on April 24 a year ago.
Athens recorded the highest average pump price in Georgia at $3.568 per gallon, trailed by Atlanta at $3.56 and Valdosta at $3.532, all record highs for those cities.
The state's lowest average could be found in Augusta, which was $3.468 per gallon.
Diesel fuel prices also hit a record high Thursday in Columbus, registering $4.167 per gallon.
Nationally, more all-time highs were set.
The U.S. average for regular unleaded Thursday was $3.556 per gallon, compared to $3.533 Wednesday, AAA reported. Diesel was $4.223 per gallon, up about a penny.
