The Alabama Cooperative Extension System/Russell County will hold a workshop and cooking school entitled "Taking Control of Diabetes with Healthy Lifestyle Changes" every two weeks.
The workshop, conducted by regional extension agent Helen Herndon-Jones, will be held at the extension office, 508 14th St. in Phenix City, just across the street from the Russell County Courthouse.
Participants will increase knowledge about healthy foods, receive basic diabetes and nutrition information and share and learn from one another. The next meeting will be held on May 6, with subsequent meetings held on May 20, June 3 and June 17.
The series is $20 per person and will be limited to the first 20 paid participants. Call 334-298-6845 for information.
