Folksy crooner Brooke White was sent home on Wednesday's episode of "American Idol."
White, a 24-year-old nanny who claimed to have never seen an R-rated movie, earned fans with her cheery demeanor and Carly Simon-inspired versions of rock tunes.
While judge Simon Cowell called her first song on Tuesday's Neil Diamond week, "I'm A Believer," a nightmare, the panel praised her second song, "I Am...I Said."
The singer encountered her biggest setback last week, when a lapse in memory made her opt for a do-over early in her performance. That week, ironically, she skirted a spot among the lowest vote-getters.
White was joined in Wednesday's bottom two by Syesha Mercado.

Next week, the four remaining singers take on songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
