The average price of regular unleaded hit $3.619 locally, up from $3.618 on Wednesday, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
A month ago, pump prices were nearly $3.24 per gallon in Columbus. They were $2.87 per gallon on May 1 a year ago.
Athens, at a record $3.63 per gallon, and Atlanta, at $3.62 per gallon, have the highest average price today in Georgia.

Diesel fuel prices held steady today in Columbus at $4.21 per gallon.
Nationally, more all-time highs have been set.
The U.S. average for regular unleaded today is $3.62 per gallon, AAA reported. Diesel is up to $4.25 per gallon.
