A Columbus man was beaten and robbed late Wednesday night.
David Belk told police he was walking along Morris Road on his way home from the store at around 10 p.m.
As he approached the intersection of Morris Road and Forestside Drive, someone struck him from behind and he was knocked unconscious, according to a police report.
When he awoke, several items were missing from his backpack, including a removable computer hard drive, valued at $175, about 50 Klonopin pills, valued at $13, and about $525 in cash.
His face was swollen and his left ear was badly cut.
The case remains under investigation.
