Key Elementary School will hold a dedication ceremony to honor the memory of two students who drowned while playing in the Chattahoochee River Saturday afternoon.
On Friday May, 9, at 9 a.m., the school will plant two trees in front of the campus on Broadmoor Drive in memory of Arturio and Alijah Rozier. The brothers were playing in the river at around 2:30 p.m. when they ventured too far out and went under the water.
Muscogee County school board member Reverend Joseph Roberson will speak at the ceremony. The Spencer High School band will also perform.
Following the dedication ceremony representatives from second and fourth grade, the student body president, and other assistants will move to the front of the school to plant trees in honor of the boys.
The principal, faculty, staff, and students will also dedicate “Field Day” to the memory of the brothers.
