Dreadlocked guitarist Jason Castro was sent home on Wednesday's episode of "American Idol."
While he initially wowed fans with acoustic renditions of tunes like Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," Castro in recent weeks appeared to be losing momentum. On Tuesday's rock theme night, he received negative reviews for an uninspired performance of "I Shot the Sheriff" and then fumbled the lyrics to "Mr. Tambourine Man."
The singer, who last week was quoted as saying "I'm kind of ready to go home," appeared almost relieved when his elimination was announced.
